Today we went to an introduction at Kalamunda High School for all the chidren that had been successful in gaining a place in the Academic Excellence Program.

All the kids received a certificate which was awesome.

Then they announced that there were 6 scholarships to be awarded. We had not been told anything about this so were very surprised.

And guess what - yep - CONNOR WON ONE!!!!!

I am currently one very excited mummy and Connor had the biggest grin on his face.

I am so proud of my beautiful boy - YOU ROCK SON!!!!!

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE PROGRAMME

Hi Everyone

Well I know it has been a long time since I have blogged but facebook has gotten the better of me LOL.

But I wanted to brag everywhere I could about my news today.

A few weeks ago Connor went and sat some exams to see if he was eligible for the Academic Excellence Programme at Kalamunda Senior High School in 2011.

Well today HE WAS ACCEPTED!!!!!

They also give you your actual results which just spun me out.

Connor achieved better than 99% of children they tested from across Australia in the literacy test and better than 98% in the numeracy test. In the third test he received better than 89% of students. I was absolutely amazerd and needless to say very very proud.

Hope everyone receives some news as good as I did today.

GENEROSITY BRAGGING!!!

Well I just wanted to share with everyone how proud I am of the people that I work with.

When the Victorian bushfires happened we were all given the option of donating over a two month period direct from our pays - and the company would match our donations cent for cent.

Today at work I read a progress report and can proudly say that staff have donated $90,000 dollars!!!!!

This being matched by the company our contribution to date is $180,000!!!!!!

I am so proud of those that I work with that have been so generous.

You guys rock.

WHAT AN AWESOME YEAR FOR CONNOR

Hi fellow bloggers!!!!

After our awesome t-ball carnival on the weekend I was sitting reflecting on what a positive year my beautiful boy has had.

Connor was selected for PEAC which was a huge achievement. There were only 4 people from his school that received scores above 95% which enabled them to attend.

He was then chosen by the deputy principal to attend another gifted programme that was running at the school.

He played his very first season of basketball and despite the terrible coaches learnt a lot of skills and made some awesome new friends.

His t-ball season so far has seen some great results for him. His fielding and batting have excelled to a very high standard. As previously mentioned he has been selected in the Kalamunda Rangers inter-district squad from which the states team will be chosen.

T-ball on Saturday saw the kids compete in a round-robin competition where our kids won two out of three games, only missing out on being the champions due to a count back.

Sundays first inter-district games saw our kids win all four games. After a very nervous start in the first game Connor settled beautifully to get two home runs in the next game. He sat out the third game and finished the last game with a home run as well. My boy has never done so much running in his life and I am oh so proud of him.

His school faction won both the school sports carnival and the top points scorers for the end of year competition - GO GOLD!!!!

Connor also did very well at swimming this year. Not having done any swimming since last year we didnt hold much hope but he remembered everything and passed his level 8 certicicate - I was very proud of him!!!

Yesterday he was selected to learn guitar at the school. Earlier in the year all the kids took a music test and from the results the top scorers were selected to receive tuition from a qualified music teacher. He is very excited about this as he loves the guitar so another high for the year.

All in all my boy has had a very positive year and a year full of achievement. I am so proud of him and hope that next year brings as much joy and opportunities as he has received this year.

EXHAUSTED BUT ECSTATIC!!!!

Hi fellow bloggers.

Well I just had to hop straight on here tonight and have a HUGE brag!!!!

Today in this searing heat we took 14 kidlets to compete in an inter-district t-ball carnival at Thornlie.

I have to say we have the most decent, caring and awesome team we could ever have hoped for.

Not only did they have the perfect behaviour in weather that was more than testing having to play four games in all, but they ROCKED big time.

These kids have only practiced together twice and had one scratch match before today. We were playing teams from last year who were way above the grade we should be and to be honest we didn't hold much hope of any wins for the boys.

But OMG - our boys won EVERY game!!!! And not by a little bit - they won every game convincingly.

My boy started out extremely nervous in the first game but settled to score two home runs in the second game - WOOHOO. He didn't play the third game but scored another home run in the fourth - that's my boy!!!!

They played like a team from game one and continued it right through the day - I feel like I have 14 sons that I couldn't be prouder of. Being team manager and first base caller made it a full on day for me but I can honestly say I enjoyed every minute of it.

I took my camera and had some lovely people take photos for me so as soon as I upload them I will share some piccis of these beautiful boys.

Well yesterday I came home to find the most amazing layout waiting for me.

INTER-DISTRICT SQUAD

Hi Fellow Bloggers!!!!

I hope all are well out there.

I have some very exciting news - my boy made the T-Ball Inter-District Squad - WOOHHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

From this squad of 14 kidlets a States Team of 11 will be chosen to compete in the states competition in March - so keep your fingers crossed.

Connor is very excited which is great as he will now be training twice a week until christmas then three times a week if he gets into the actual States Team.

I am oh so proud of him as he has really excelled with his t-ball. Not really being a sporting boy I can't help but smile when I see him out on the diamond doing so well.

At the end of October Fiskars held an exceptionally successful 'Girls Night In' to help raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer. This is a subject very close to my heart with my mum being a breast cancer and cervical cancer survivor - love you mum!!!!

It was an awesome night with lots of giggles and chatting online.

One of the great events of the night was a silent auction.

I had a heap of fun bidding on all sorts of different items.

I did get pipped at the last minute on a couple of items but I also managed to pip a couple of others at the post (sorry girls).

It was really funny chatting in the online room at the end of the night to find out who pipped who LOL.

Anyway I can happily say I won layouts to be scrapped by the very talented Kim Geling, Mishell Lancett, Evana Willis and Trina McClune. I was ecstatic!!!!

I also won a beautiful mini album by Jill GG and a beautifully stunning quote book by Miss Kim.

To top it all off I also won an 'Ink By Steph' pack.

I can't wait to receive my prizes and hopefully when I receive my layouts from the girls they will let me share them with you all.

A NEW TRADITION

Howdy everyone.

Hope we are all well.

I wanted to share a new tradition with you all.

The other day at work I was chatting to a friend who was telling me she was going out to dinner that night. Then she explained to me that she took her kids to a restaurant once a month to teach them how to behave when they are out and about etiquette at a restaurant and such things. The funny thing is just the night before Connor had asked me if we could go to a restaurant for dinner.

So I thought - why not!!!

What a great thing to do with your kids.

Well we did in fact go out - but only to Fast Eddies this time.

Connor chose from the menu, sat beautifully and behaved like a perfect gentleman - or should that be gentleboy LOL.

We both had a great night and I have decided that we shall do this every month to different restaurants.

Work has been flat out and we have way too much work. I have been working extra hours to try and help the girls out and now at the end of the week I am feeling really run down.

But I had promised Connor we would go shopping after school for some school shorts and Halloween costumes.

So when we got caught by the Indian Pacific train I thought - yep, that tops off today!!!

I couldn't believe it when I saw this beautiful rose in full flower.

This plant was literally cut back to nothing when my fence was blown down as the workers needed to have access to get in and put the new fence up.

To be honest I never thought it would survive.

But look at this beautiful flower - and the perfume is to die for.

Well as I said with yesterdays photo I headed to our normal doctor to get full treatment for Connors eczema today.

Our doctor is very good and after another visit to the nurse and some medication we headed over to Belmont Forum.

Big W had lots of specials on and I bought this cute little UB Funkey for my poor boy. It connects to your computer and is a lot of fun.

Late this afternoon saw Connor and I at Swan Districts hospital with a very flared up eczema rash and two very weepy ulcerations.

This photo is after we got home and the wound has been cleaned by the nurse. Still very sore but a little better than when we went to the hospital.

Tomorrow we will head to our normal doctor and get full treatment.

Well today I headed in to Just Scrapbooking at Jandakot for the very first WA Fiskateers event.

UNWANTED MRI RESULTS

Hmmm - do you ever feel like you have just been slapped in the face with a wet rag???

Well that is how I felt today.

My mum came with me today to get the results of my MRI scan from a week or so ago. I am not sure why mum decided to come with me - maybe she knew?????

Anyway I have had a few problems for a while now and about two months ago went and had an audiology test. It was the worst experience I have ever had. The lady found a problem with one of my ears and the actual test made me literally sick on the way home from the hospital. Anyway after that result I presumed that nothing would show up on the MRI as we had already found the problem. Needless to say I was wrong!!!!

My MRI wasn't clear as I had expected to hear from the neurologist. It showed two small clots on either side of my brain - one at the front and one at the back. They believe I may have a problem with an irregular heart pulsation and that my heart may be in fact 'flicking' off small blood clots which are lodging in my brain. Not what I had expected to hear!!!!

And just to top it off they believe I may also have thrombosis due to red marks continually showing up on my legs and arms - just great!!!!

So I am up for more tests to try and narrow down the exact causes. They have already extracted 10 vials of blood and I am booked in for an EEG and have to wear a halter monitor for 24 hours to see if it picks up any irregular happenings. I am also straight onto aspirin to help thin the blood and hopefully stop the clots. So there you have my day. I have definitely had better - but at the end of the day I guess it could have been worse.

DAY 9 - OCTOBER PHOTO A DAY

What a great day I have had.

This morning we headed off to Ikea to buy myself a little table to put in the front room which is actually a christmas present from my parents.

Well I was very proud to get there without getting lost or into a panic - which is great for me these days.

After that we went into Innaloo shopping centre next door for a wander. We visited the Cookie Man - yumm!!!!.

On the way back we dropped into mum and dads for a cuppa.

After that we headed to the pet shop to have another look at some bunnies. We decided we would add to our family and that we would get a bunny. Anyway the shops bunny is pregnant and not due for about a month. So in good faith we bought some hay and bunny food ready for when we do get a bunny.

On the way home I told Connor we would get the Quokka and see if any bunnies needed a home - and then there was this......

Welcome Itchy Bunny!!!!!! Our latest addition. There was an add for a new home for Itchy so that's what we did. We headed over at 5pm to collect him and he is now happy jumping around the Bunny Hilton!!!.Aanuka and Itchy got acquainted very quickly and everyone is happy.We are very excited to say the least.

Well I am still going strong with my photos a day.

Today's photo wont be very exciting to anyone else but I am currently renovating the inside of my house to make it fresh and vibrant. I already have a burgundy feature wall and am adding a bright green to the mix to brighten it up - it is yummy.

These are the new curtains I have made for the television cabinet in the room that has the burgundy feature wall. And in the room up the top of this I will be painting a wall in this yummy green colour.

Well I had the funniest sight this morning and just had to make it my photo of the day.

I decided to make Big Dog breakfast this morning with some left over rice mixed with Vegemite mixed up in hot water. It is a bit of a treat for him and he loves it.

And whilst snapping photos of the mess he was making I managed this beauty - not sure if he is being rude or just enjoying his food LOL.

Just a quick post about a special friend of mine.

This beautiful lady came into my life a few months ago and we just 'clicked'. She is such a tribute to true beauty and I love her to death.

Due to certain circumstances I decided my beautiful friend needed a pick-me-up. So today I bought her a little gift and made her a little card 'just because'.

The card reads - Just Because - You are my friend, Just Because - I care,Just Because.....

I hope she enjoys her little pressie and it picks her up.

SPORTS DAY FUN

NAUGHTY SHOPPING AGAIN LOL(but a good deed too!!!)

OKAY - I confess, I've done it again (but I am sure it wasn't my fault) LOL!!!!

Spotlight had lots of Fiskars goodies on sale and I couldn't resist doing some shopping.

And I even went one worse - I got Wendy (craft manager) to put things away for me to ensure I didn't miss out!!!!

I got some awesome new punches - threading water, leave it to weaver, vine and dandy circle punch and ring around the rosey circle punch. These were on special so I HAD TO get them now.

I also got some Max's Backyard goodies which I have been waiting to play with.

But I also did a good deed on this day so I don't feel so bad. We had pulled into the back entrance of Spotlight when we saw a guy trying to push his car backwards into a car parking spot after it had obviously died. There were all these cars sitting there waiting for him yet NO ONE got out to give this poor guy a hand. Now a car isn't the easiest thing to push yourself - especially on a bit of a slope - and try to steer it into where you want.

So I tell Connor to sit tight, put the hazards on and jump out to help this poor guy. And thank goodness that another guy then decided that he might help too!!!!

So I tell this guy to jump in and steer and we would push him in. Now the guy looks at me as if to say 'you are just a sheila how are you going to push my car in'. That made me a little sad seen as I was the first one to jump out and help him instead of sitting in my car and just watching.

Anyway I guess it just shows that not everyone is appreciative of you helping!!! Oh well - I would still help again should the situation arise.

ACCIDENT BEFORE OUR EYES

Well I guess Connor just wasn't meant to go to basketball training today.

We had left about half an hour early to go to the shops at Midland to buy some DS games for my mum and a DS console for her (so I could have mine back - LOL).

Well we got a bargain at the shops and were heading to basketball.

Connor was on the phone to his Grandma to tell her what we had purchased. We came through a set of lights and around the corner and I looked ahead and slightly to my right to see two vehicles smash into each other.Now they were probably about 70 metres from us but as they collided one of the vehicles came heading up towards us on the wrong side of the road.

I slowed to almost a stop as this vehicle came closer and closer.

I had a horrible feeling that the driver had been knocked unconscious by the force of the accident but as it got to about 3 metres from my car it managed to turn and run up into the dirt in the median strip.

And at that time all I could think was 'thank goodness we didn't get hit'. Now I know that probably sounds nasty but after this vehicle heading for us and with my son in the car I was so grateful it didn't hit us.

Anyway I went around the car, pulled up into the turning lane, put the hazards on and we jumped out of the car to check if everyone was okay.

The poor driver of the vehicle I was near was in major shock and his foot was stuck under the accelerator. He managed to free himself and I walked him round into the middle of the median strip away from any further danger.

I couldn't see the other car as it had gone in the other direction and pulled into a carpark.

Anyway to cut a long story short I wasn't going to leave this guy in shock so stayed and chatted to him, the other guys from the other car came up, vented a bit of anger and then I managed to calm them all down and took things from there until the police arrived and the ambos.

All I can say is thankyou to whoever was watching over the three people involved in the crash and thankyou for ensuring Connor and i remained safe.

I hope tonight that all involved are safe and sound and home with their loved ones.

A beautiful 12 x 12 canvas made from some Heidi Grace Orchard papers. Here is what Maursie had to say:
I absolutely love canvases and as soon as I saw the beautiful Orchard papers I knew they would be perfect for a canvas for my loungeroom. I love the bright orange solid paper with the dark green solid paper. And I have added some black bazzill in between which gives an overall clean and crisp appearance. I have added a strip of the patterned paper just to break it all up.The sticker words and embossed stickers were perfect for my journalling and I finished it all off with some flocked add-on corners and a large tab at the top.

MAMMA MIA WITH FRIENDS

What a great Sunday!!!

Today a group of 10 ladies from work went to see Mamma Mia at the Gold Class in Innaloo.

And what a great afternoon.

The movie was great, the company was great and it was just a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

For those who love ABBA go and see this movie - it is fun yet has a great story line too.

HEAVEN AND AN AWESOME NIGHT OUT

YAY - its the weekend.

And what an awesome start I have had. Last night we had a work social club function.

I had arranged to drive a girlfriend so she could have a few drinks so got myself ready and headed over to Josines around 6.15.

When I walked into Josines home I was in heaven.

We are sooooo much alike. Her home is so beautifully decorated and somewhere that I would LOVE to live.

Anyway I got talking to her hubby (hi Steve!!!!)

I was telling him about how I too loved old stuff and country style stuff when he asked if I would like some old tools he had in the shed.

Well my little eyes lit up ande naturally I said 'yes please'.

So off he went and bought back the most magic array of old tools including things like old drill bits and wooden mallets. OMG - I was in heaven!!!!

I have taken some piccis and cant wait to make some frames and bits and pieces using these treasures.

Anyway I now had to settle down and focus on the night ahead LOL.

We headed to the Vic Hotel in Subiaco and headed upstairs to our private function.

We were in for an awesome night.

There were almost 50 people there, the food was oh so yummy, the company was great, and we all had a top night.

We were asked t head out just before midnight and decided that we were going to go for a coffee before we all headed opur separate ways. Unfortunately at that time of night we couldn't find a cafe open so decided to head to Jane's house instead (hi Jane)

So 5 of us went to Jane's and sat down and had a cuppa and a good old chat. Well boy were we enjoying ourselves until I realised the time - OMG!!!!! It was past 1.30am.

So we all headed home - I took Josine home and then headed home to my bed. I got home around 2.30am this morning - but boy what an awesome night.

So to all that went last night - THANKYOU - everyone contributed to a lovely evening and I cant wait to do it all again.

FISKARS ANZ BLOG AUGUST INSPIRATION

A big hello to everyone!!!!

I am sorry for the long delay in blogging. I have been on the computer lots but haven't really had anything exciting to share.

However today I do have the above layout to share.

Over at the Fiskars ANZ Blog they are giving us inspiration to help get some layouts completed during this rotten weather we are having. Head on over to have a look. The above layout is challenge two - and boy was it a challenge!!! I sat up until midnight last night and then had to finish it off this afternoon. It was tricky to get everything on the page but was also a lot of fun. And I am very proud to actually finish it.

ITS CHRISTMAS IN JULY!!!!

Today we celebrate Christmas.

Connor has been sooooo excited.

As Connor will be elsewhere for Christmas in December I decided we would celebrate in July instead.

We were up at 6AM (OMG) and he has opened his first 6 presents - oohhhhh and his new West Coast PJ's!!!!!

I have lots of photos already but will pop back in and share them later.

We are off to my favourite restaurant - Cafe D'Vines in the Swan Valley for lunch with Mum and Dad so should be a good day.

A ONE OFF (LOL)

Good Evening Everyone,

Well I have a strange share with this post.

I mentioned in a couple of posts ago that I went out for Miss Beth's farewell.

Whilst sitting at the table at the end of the night I was complaining that there were no decent photos of me during the night (my catch phrase for the night was "photoshop will fix that"). So Miss Beth said she would take one for me. And much to my surprise I actually LOVE this photo. Having spent the night partying, drinking and laughing I can't believe she actually managed to snap a photo I liked.

This was just the cutest sight. The meer cats had been moved to an inside enclosure and they had a red heat lamp in there. This little fella went up to the light and stood in front of it to warm his tummy - too cute!!!!

I love the giraffes.

And tiny little squirrels - they have the furriest little tale up close.

We watched the penguins for ages. Last time I was at the zoo my camera battery ran out just as I got to the penguins so I wanted to make sure I got plenty of piccis this time.

And who can go past the elephants - sobig yet so gracefull!!!!

HUGE WEEKEND

What an awesome weekend I have just had.

Saturday night we had a send-off for my good friend Beth - thats her in the photo. I have known Beth for about 6 months now and she is just awesome.Sadly in a couple of weeks she will be going back home to Queensland. Beth works at the same place as I do.So we decided to have a few people go out for the night to say bye bye. We went to the Dianella Hotel and it was a great night. The food was lovely, the company was awesome and I have never laughed so much in my life. It was something I really needed and I enjoyed every minute of it. My good friend Josine also came along and let me tell you - she is just the nicest and funniest person. Love ya girl!!!!

Saturday at some stage Beth and I decided to go to the zoo. I can't really remember how we came to the decision but that doesn't matter.
The day was a little overcast but we had a great time. Unfortunately we didn't manage to see Mali the new Sun Bear but it was an awesome time anyway. I even had a little squirrel running around my feet whilst I was eating morning tea.

Well that is 6 completely finished for me. I have two more all but done - just need to add some journalling (as soon as I find that white gel pen).

My beautiful boy is finally back home with me, although surprise surprise he is sick again.

We were suppposed to be meeting up with Kim and Janine to go ice skating today but with a crackley chest it was not a good idea to take Connor there.I was so looking forward to meeting up with everyone - it has been way too long.

Well Harvey Norman has 15c prints on again so we will have a bite to eat and head down and get some piccis developed from the weekend (which I will blog about later).

HOLIDAY CHALLENGE LAYOUTS

Hi Everyone.

My first layout here is Challenge #K2 - Use A Grungeboard Alpabet On A Layout.

With the rustic feel I was trying to aim for with this layout I couldn't resist using one of Julie Van Oosten's beautiful little owls that I had completed earlier. Just too cute!!!

Layout number 2 is Challenge #K8 - Use No Cardstock And At Least Two Patterned Papers.

For this layout I just couldn't go past this A Little Birds Tale range by Heidi Grace and distributed through Fiskars. It is a beautiful range to work with and I am really happy with the results.

Layout number 3 is Challenge K6 - Use a purple and yellow combination on your layout.

I have always loved this photo of Connor and knew it was the perfect photo for this challenge. What a handsome man (even if I do say so myself ) LOL!!!!

Well I will leave the rest of the challenge uploads until tomorrow.

HOLIDAY LAYOUT SHARE & TISSUE WARNING!!

Hi All!!!

I hope this post finds everyone well and staying warm.

As I have previously mentioned I am doing Kim and Janines holiday challenge which involves completing 20 layouts in the school holidays.

This is just an awesome task and I am having the most fun I have had in a long time. I have only completed 7 so far but am pretty happy with that result seen as I have worked all week.

This first layout is a tribute to my beautiful girl Nikita who shines down on me from heaven.It is challenge K5 - do a non person layout.

This layout is especially important as it would have been Kitas birthday tomorrow - love you baby girl!!!!

The poem was sent to me when I had made the extremely hard decision to lay her to rest. Arthritis had riddled her body and life was not that of a normal dogs. I will copy the poem below for those that may want to read it but I take no responsibility for the effects it may have. I still cry every time I read this poem but it is very appropriate.

FROM A DOGS EYES

If it should be that I grow frail and weak

And pain should keep me from my sleep
Then you must do what must be done
For this the last battle can't be won.

You will be sad I understand
Don't let your grief then stay your hand
For this day more than the rest
Your love and friendship stand the test.

BUSY BUSY BUSY

Hi Everyone!!!

Well I have had a very busy weekend and the week will be even busier.

The weekend started with my sons basketball game which finished about 11.15. I then headed to the shops to check out if there was anything else I needed to buy for my son for christmas.Because I dont have Connor for christmas this year we have decided to have christmas in July.So we will celebrate on the 19th July - I am actually very excited. I have booked the restaurant and myself, Connor, mum and dad will have a wonderful lunch before coming home for a few more celebrations.

Anyway back to the weekend.

Saturday afternoon/evening I did some scrapping and just lost myself in what I was doing - it was great.

Sunday was freezing in my house so I decided to do some gardening and clean up the back yard. I then decided to mow the front lawn as all the neighbours had just had theirs done. I dont like looking like the black sheep in the street LOL?

Anyway after finishing the lawn and trimming the bougainvillea I decided it was time for a nice cuppa and some more scrapping.

I managed to finish three layouts and start a fourth one. I am doing Kim and Janine's holiday challenge that can be found on their blogs. It is great fun and anyone is welcome to join in.I will photograph them soon and share (I promise Janine LOL)

That takes us to today.

Work was flat out as this is our busiest time of the year. I am working full days at the moment which the bank account likes LOL.

Hopefully I will get some more scrapping done during the evenings - fingers crossed.

LAYOUT SHARE

Hello all.

Well it is almost 11pm here so I probably should be heading off to bed but I thought I would share my two latest layouts with you.

My first layout is a photo that I have had since Connor was a baby and due to the photographer using pink and blue in the background I have always had a problem trying to scrap it. But I am glad to say that the Heidi Grace 'A Little Birds Tale' was just perfect. The purple hues blended everything together perfectly and I am so happy with the results.

My second layout is done using the beautiful Cloud 9 Be Loved paper range from Fiskars. These papers are just yummy!!!

Well I will say goodnight to one and all.

HAPPY SATURDAY

WOOHOO - I had to go to the post office again today to collect another parcel - but lets backtrack a little first LOL!!!!

On Thursday I had to go and collect a parcel from the post office. Well I am awaiting a few prizes and when I opened this one I wasn't exactly sure which item it was - so had to keep it hush hush for a little bit. But all is well - it was my prizes from Fiskars. I received some absolutely gorgeous Cloud 9 Vellum Flower Kits. They are just truly yummy!!!!Thanks Fiskars!!!

And today's package was even yummier (is that a word?). But unfortunately I can't share what I received today yet - but stay tuned LOL!!!!

So with my new package I am super excited and my son thinks I have lost it LOL!!! 10 year old boys just dont understand some things (hee,hee,hee)

We are off to basketball soon and then to officeworks to check out some products.

If the sun comes out later I will photograph my latest two layouts and share with you all.

MIXED EMOTIONS TODAY

Today has just been one of those days.

I had a good day at work - even though we were very busy and very low on staff. Mind you by the time I got home I was exhausted. But my beautiful parents had the kettle on for me and my wonderful son got me dinner!!!!

But then I opened my mail and today's mail definitely wasn't happy - but I can't really elaborate on here - sorry!!!

But then a good piece of mail too - I have another parcel waiting for me at the post office which I am guessing will make me happy when I retrieve it tomorrow.

I have a layout I started yesterday with some of the beautiful papers Lyn sent me in my RAK which I was going to try and finish tonight but I just done have the get up and go - hopefully tomorrow.

HAPPY MAIL ARRIVED TODAY

Don't you love it when you receive HAPPY MAIL in your letter box????

I have been entering lots of on-line competitions and bits and pieces of late and my persistence has paid off several times so far.

Yesterday I received a beautiful RAK from Lyn Dwyer. She was having a big clean out of her scrapping supplies and chose three lucky people to receive some goodies. I was one of the lucky recipients and I couldn't believe what Lyn had forwarded to me. My parents were here when I opened it and they were also blown away - so a big THANKYOU to Lyn for sharing - you made my day.

Then today I came home to another little package. A long time ago I was drawn out of a hat to win a Fiskars Craft Wallet which had to travel here from America.It is just awesome - I can store my scissors safely in it and know that they will never get lost. Thankyou Fiskars!!!!

I am still awaiting a few other prizes so I will be stalking the letterbox for a little while yet.

FISKARS JUNE CHALLENGE ENTRY

Well here is my entry to the Fiskars June Challenge. We had to use our templates to do at least two different aspects on our layout or cards.

I have used Heidi Grace 'Love Blossoms Pinstripe'. I have also used the Fiskars Shape Template - Hearts 1 to do the hearts and the Victorian Border on the red bazzill. I have used the Fiskars Shape Template - Circles to do the border on the black bazzill.

Letters used are 'Scrap FX - Scrappy Letters'.

Well here is hopefully my first of many layouts that I will be able to share.

This layout is based on a sketch By Trina McClune at the Fiskars blog. I have used Heidi Grace 'Inspire Me Large Stripe' and 'Inspire Me Large Stripe Patch'.

I love this classis photo of Connor and I think the title is perfect.

WORN OUT

Well I am worn out at the moment. Yesterday I didnt finish in the garden until about 6pm so needless to say I didnt get much scrapbooking done.

Then this morning mum and dad came over to help me with the gardening at the front of the house where I was removing a large 'Rose of Sharon' plant. That has taken until now to finish - well along with a few other smalll tasks that had to be done too. So now I am worn out again and my hands are sore from pulling large roots out of the ground.

I am just having a cuppa then I will try and get these layouts done that I so desperately want to do. I LOVE the new Fiskars papers I bought yesterday and really want to have a play with them.

NAUGHTY SHOPPING

After basketball today I decided to again see if I could hunt down some of the beautiful new Fiskars papers.

My first destination proved fruitless except for the stamp press which comes with a free set of stamps and was heavily reduced. Now I know I already have one but I just couldn't help myself LOL!!!!

Well after no luck with the new papers I was chasing I decided to head back to Spotlight and see what they had. And oh what joy - not only did they have 'A Little Birds Tale' range I also found the wonderful new 'Kimberly Poloson' Cabana Blooms range. Boy oh boy was I excited.

So needless to say I was very very naughty (well I was excited!!!) and I bought some of almost everything. At least now I have some new product to do layouts with using the wonderful Fiskars sketches by Trina.

Whilst at spotlight I also purchased some wonderful clear stamps by Fiskars which were also on sale - woohoo what a shop!!!

Well that's it for now. Unfortunately the garden is calling me so with this fine weather I must attend to that first - but tonight is a whole different story!!!!
